Perth parents are often paying babysitters who have no idea what they are doing.

Would you expect a plumber to know how to change a washer, or an electrician to know how to turn off the mains? Yes? Then you should expect that someone minding your most precious gifts, your children, to be reliable, competent, and trustworthy. But how do you know this?

At Cherished Cherubs Babysitting, all the babysitters are screened and trained to ensure they attain to our values and meet the standards expected of the agency. The process has been strategically planned to ensure we have the ‘right’ team. There is set criteria they must meet before they even get to meet us.

As you do, we expect anyone that wants to be part of the Cherished Cherubs Babysitting professional team to have had some experience with children, whether that be in a formal or informal capacity. This includes interactions such as working in childcare, studying teaching, volunteering at kids’ camps, babysitting for family and friends, or the most relevant experience of all, being a hands-on mum.

Plus, formal requirements such as holding a current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance are mandatory. We expect that all carers hold their drivers’ licence and have a vehicle, so parents do not have to worry about the babysitter getting to or from jobs. Cherished Cherubs also ask our babysitters to hold or work toward obtaining their Senior First Aid certificate.

These things alone do not guarantee the potential babysitter a place on the Cherished Cherubs team. We have a good chat with them on the phone and meet face to face to find out more about them personally, their values, their interactions, skills, and initiative. If they make it past this process, we then put them through our professional training program made up of a series of online modules regarding our policies and standards, making them aware of our expectations and systems,  as well as covering various positive based strategies when dealing with children’s behaviour.

Once the agency decides a babysitter is suitable, they are added to our active babysitter database and are continually monitored through feedback from parents and ensuring their licences are renewed.

Before your babysitter from Cherished Cherubs Babysitting even knocks on your door, you can be reassured that they have had to go through a rigorous process that shows a genuine love and commitment to what they are doing, and that Cherished Cherubs is continually checking on everyone in their team.

Next time you need a babysitter, do you cross your fingers and hope the babysitter you found has been honest with you and knows what they are doing or do you ring Cherished Cherubs Babysitting on 0417 927 525 and have peace of mind?
