New-to-PerthThe emotional and logistical issues that come with moving to a new town, let alone a new country are enormous. Times that by 4 when you are moving with your partner and children. We were lucky enough to recently work with the BBC as they filmed a documentary on emigrating families.

It got us thinking about family supports. Many people move to be closer to family. But many don’t have this luxury, and it is becoming more of a luxury not a given as families are dispersed across the world.

It takes so long to settle in to a new place. You need to find a house and set it up, buy a car, start a new job, get the children settled, learn how everyday things get done in a new place and generally get your bearings. Time to meet people is limited, and when you do get time, where will you meet people you can develop good friendships with?

There is school if your children are of that age, sports, work, playgroups and other groups. But this all takes time.

There are now quite a few support services such as Aussie Orientation Services for those new to the country that can help with various things such as immigration & visas, getting a loan and housing.

Cherished Cherubs Babysitting is another service that all new families to Perth should be aware of. They allow the children to be cared for so parents can attend appointments, interviews and get settled. Not to mention being available so parents can get time to unwind and go out to develop their own network of friends.

To all new families to Perth there is someone you can trust straight away to have your kids when you don’t have family to babysit. Go to www.cherishedcherubs.com.au or call 0417 927 525.

From the initial quote and booking to the baby sitting service, Cherished Cherubs have been outstanding all the way through!! It gave us complete peace of mind knowing our son was well looked after. - Christina, 3/3/20

We had Riana look after our 1.5 year old son for a few hours while we went out for dinner. From the moment she walked in the door both my son and daughter were obsessed with her. - Michelle, 31/8/20

Our babysitter Erica was fantastic, she went above and beyond to make our little people feel safe and happy. Strongly recommend her to others and will use again in the future. - Dale, 19/10/20

My children felt at ease with Ema straight away. She read them stories and settled them into bed. Booking and communication process was very straightforward and easy to use. Highly recommend - Hannah, 1/12/20
